Program Details

By the end of our program, participants will be able to apply their safety skills at home, school, and within the community, fostering a sense of self-esteem and building confidence.

Graduation + Touch-a-Truck

On Friday, June 13, 2025, families are invited to celebrate their students' achievements and enjoy a fun-filled community experience with a Touch-A-Truck party. Each participant will receive a gift bag packed with useful tools and resources to reinforce the valuable safety skills they've learned.

Registration

Registration will begin in March 2025 (date TBD) to children living within Painesville City limits who will enter kindergarten or first grade in the 2025-26 school year. When registration is open, click the link and fill out the online form. Children living within Painesville City Limits will be given first priority; however those living in Painesville Township, Fairport and surrounding communities may also register.

Date and Location

Painesville Safety Town will take place from 9 AM to 12 PM during the week of June 9-13, 2025, at Maple Elementary School, located at 560 West Jackson Street, Painesville.

Food

To ensure the safety of all participants with food allergies, snacks from home are not permitted. We recommend that participants eat before arriving. Lunch will be provided at 12 PM through the Lunch Box Program, coinciding with the end of the day’s activities.

Pick up and drop off

Drop off is at 9 am sharp, and pick up is at 12 pm sharp.

Parents/guardians or friends of each child participant will need to show a driver's license or state ID in order to pick up their child, which will need to match the names listed on the registration.

The parent/guardian signing the registration form accepts all responsibility for transportation of their child to and from these sessions and acknowledges that the Painesville Lions Club and its agents are not responsible for a child not being picked up at the end of a class.

What to bring and wear

On the first day of the program, all participants will receive a Painesville Safety Town T-shirt. We recommend wearing this T-shirt daily for easy identification.

Participants should dress appropriately for the weather each day and avoid open-toed shoes. Comfortable sneakers or tennis shoes are strongly encouraged, as they are ideal for running and pedaling activities.

Phones and/or electronic devices are not permitted for participants.
